Baikonur Cosmodrome is located in Kazakhstan east of the Aral Sea in the semiarid zone with sharply continental climate. Although this area has hot dry summer and frosty winter with little precipitation, beautiful flowers are seen in spring. Mr. Alexander Svotin sent us photos of flowers in Baikonur.

In Tokyo spring already came in March. We have enjoyed the most impressive spring view, Sakura in full bloom in early April. Sakura in full bloom are breathtaking, and people enjoy the spring under the beautiful Sakura trees. The full bloom last very short (less than a week) and Sakura blossoms fall like confetti shower.
